Bill Stewart Trio ft. Larry Grenadier & Walter Smith III

World-class trio led by American drummer known for collaboration with John Scofield and Pat Metheny.

The Bill Stewart Trio is among the absolute top of contemporary jazz. Drummer Bill Stewart has been one of the most sought-after musicians in international jazz for decades and shares a long joint history with bassist Larry Grenadier in bands including those of Pat Metheny and John Scofield.

Stewart first played with tenor saxophonist Walter Smith III during a recording for pianist Danny Grissett. Smith's clear sound and idiosyncratic approach proved to be the perfect addition to this piano-less trio. The trio has played multiple residencies at New York's Village Vanguard in recent years and previously released the album Band Menu. Recently, they released the album Live at the Village Vanguard, a must-listen.
