Bobo Stenson Trio

Icon of European jazz with his telepathic trio.

Bobo Stenson is one of the big names in European jazz. The Swedish pianist helped lay the foundations of Scandinavian jazz in the 1970s, including with the legendary Witchi-Tai-To by the Jan Garbarek Bobo Stenson Quartet from 1974. Since then, he has developed his own musical language that connects Scandinavian and American influences.

With bassist Anders Jormin and drummer Jon Fält, Stenson has formed a trio for many years known for its telepathic interplay and the careful construction of improvisations. Their most recent album on ECM, Sphere, is convincing proof of this. Jazzenzo wrote: 'What makes the Bobo Stenson Trio exceptional is the telepathic collaboration between the musicians and the careful construction of the improvisations.'
