Bombino is the band of Omara 'Bombino' Moctar, a guitarist and musician from the North African Tuareg. He grew up during a period of armed struggle for independence and violent repression by government troops. This background resonates in his music: desert blues with exciting jams that breathe the spirit of resistance and rebellion with echoing guitar riffs reminiscent of other Africans like Tinariwen, Ali Farka Touré but also Jimi Hendrix, John Lee Hooker and Jimmy Page.
