Cellofest: Harald Austbø, Ernst Glerum + Han Bennink
Trio from the legendary Instant Composers Pool.
Harald Austbø is a very versatile and creative cellist, actor, and singer. He is active in the Amsterdam jazz scene, plays in multiple bands, acts, and composes for music theater productions. In 2018, during the first edition of CELLOFEST, he surprised the audience with his quartet specially formed for that occasion. This time he comes with some members of the collective Instant Composers Pool, of which he has recently become a member.
Han Bennink is the oldest member of this band. Together with Ernst Glerum, he has formed the rhythm section of this legendary collective for several decades. The program is still largely unknown. Will it be a new cello suite by Austbø, original work, free improvisations, or repertoire by Herbie Nichols, Misha Mengelberg, or Tristan Honsinger? With singing? A concert that arises in the moment, exactly where these three jazz greats are strongest.
