Tristan Keuris was one of the most idiosyncratic Dutch composers of the twentieth century. His music manages to combine modernity with lyrical warmth, making it remarkably accessible without sacrificing depth.
The Animato Quartet and clarinetist Jelmer de Moed bring together three masterpieces: String Quartet No. 1 , the Clarinet Quintet, and the Canzone for solo clarinet. Each work demonstrates just how virtuosic and moving Tristan Keuris's musical language is.
