Emile Parisien Floating

French saxophone hero takes on a new challenge with Indian music.

Emile Parisien is always exploring new paths. As a saxophonist, he has collaborated with American jazz greats, including trumpeter Theo Croker, as well as with the world-famous techno DJ Jeff Mills. In his current band, he incorporates influences from Indian music, thanks to tabla player Prabhu Edouard. This versatile musician has previously crossed traditional boundaries in projects with Joachim Kühn and Jordi Savall.

Emile Parisien is considered one of the most important jazz musicians of the moment, both in his home country of France and beyond. The soprano saxophonist enrolled at a young age in the jazz program in Marciac, world-famous for the Jazz in Marciac festival. He learned from the greats, including Wynton Marsalis, who plays on his album Sfumato Live.
