Emma Rawicz INKYRA

Captivating grooves and group improvisations full of melody by rising stars of British jazz.

Emma Rawicz is recognized as one of the great saxophonists of the new British jazz generation. With INKYRA, she takes an ambitious new direction. Her still captivating melodies and grooves now form the basis for high-level collective improvisations. In this, the six top players have the space to shine fully. Call it jazz, rock, fusion, or singer-songwriter; ultimately, it all comes together in a unique own style.

Emma Rawicz made a name for herself on Instagram with videos showcasing her impressive skills on tenor sax, flute, and bass clarinet. The young star from London takes inspiration in her own compositions from legendary saxophonists/composers like Joe Henderson and Wayne Shorter. But the songs of Joni Mitchell also inspire her. Her recent album INKYRA was released on the ACT label, and in the band of the same name, she plays with respected musicians from British jazz.

'With INKYRA, Emma Rawicz truly blossoms as an artist with a grand vision and a soulful unique sound that knows how to touch deeply' (Downbeat).
