Eric Vloeimans, Frank Woeste & Franck Agulhon

Lyrical interplay of the widely acclaimed trumpeter and his French companions.

Lyrical, melodious and in the subdued pieces even velvety and whispering: this is how the trumpet sound of Eric Vloeimans is described. That it blends beautifully with the richly varied piano playing of Frank Woeste was already evident from their previous joint performances on our stage. Now they present a new album with drummer Franck Agulhon featuring their own compositions where improvisation and interaction are key words.

As a trumpeter, Eric Vloeimans developed a directly recognizable sound, with which he can move but also set the room on fire. Frank Woeste is a jazz pianist with a classical foundation. In his homeland France, he is known as a composer and arranger with a broad palette and has worked with stars like Michel Portal and Ibrahim Maalouf. The also French drummer Franck Agulhon is technically gifted, but is especially admired for his musical play and innovative approach. He previously worked with great trumpeters like Tom Harrell and Enrico Rava.
