EQUIVALENT IRISH POSTPUNKERS BACK AT EKKO
For over ten years, the Dublin-based Gilla Band has been redefining what you might broadly call 'rock music' in the 21st century. Their sound is not really post-punk, not really noise rock, but a distinctive hybrid form that could only come from the quartet. As founders of the current Irish post-punk scene, they were also a major source of inspiration for bands like Fontaines DC and The Murder Capital.
Their third album 'Most Normal' was described as a masterpiece of panic and deconstruction, but live the band is even more impressive than on the record. After previous shows at EKKO and Le Guess Who?, Gilla Band will once again showcase their talents at EKKO in early 2027. Expect a show that pushes boundaries and leaves nothing to chance.
