King Buffalo has been building its own form of heavy psych since 2013: psychedelic rock in which heavy riffs, progressive rhythms, and spacious passages constantly interlock. A combination that has since brought the band to the stage alongside acts such as Clutch, All Them Witches, Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, The Sword, and Elder. On Thursday, March 4, they will be performing with Spirit Mother at Patronaat!
King Buffalo consists of guitarist and vocalist Sean McVay, bassist Dan Reynolds, and drummer Scott Donaldson. With four EPs and multiple albums, the band has developed a recognizable sound in which long compositions are given ample room to build tension. On 'Regenerator', this comes together strongly. The album forms the final part of a trilogy with 'The Burden of Restlessness' and 'Acheron' and moves between heavy psych, progressive rock, and space rock. Live, King Buffalo translates that dynamic into solid riffs, hypnotic grooves, and extended instrumental passages.
