KyoYoko is an electronic art-rock band from Beijing that combines industrial punk, electronica, new wave, post-punk, and free jazz in unpredictable, theatrical live shows. Since its formation in 2020, the band has grown into a prominent name in the Beijing indie scene, and shortly before the release of their critically acclaimed debut album Gorrrre!, they won the title of Best New Band in 2021.
Since then, KyoYoko has brought their live show to international stages, such as Zandari Fest in Seoul and White Festival in Novosibirsk. On their second album, Mirrored Chamber, the band continues to explore the boundaries of their sound, with a mix of satirical rock, experimental compositions, and more subdued moments. KyoYoko enjoys treading less obvious paths and does not like to be pigeonholed.
Yugofuturism
Yugofuturism focuses on connecting, exporting, and exchanging emerging acts from Central and Eastern Europe, from the Baltic states to the Balkans, with like-minded artists, venues, and new audiences. Alongside these shows, Yugofuturism launched the nomadic festival VIKENDICA, which brought an “exceptional convoy” of adventurous, emerging European acts to four iconic Dutch venues in a single weekend.
