Le Trio Joubran

Traditional music and film music by three virtuoso brothers on the oud.

The Palestinian brothers Samir, Wissam, and Adnan Joubran descend from four generations of oud builders and players, the Arabic lute. As Le Trio Joubran, they are widely praised for their seemingly telepathic interplay: lyrical, virtuoso oud music in which three voices sound as one. They have previously collaborated with, among others, Brian Eno and Coldplay.

In addition to traditional music, the brothers play their own compositions and film music from their oeuvre. The cinematic, narrative character of their music has led to collaborations with directors such as Majid Majidi, Julian Schnabel, and Karim Dridi, and among others, the Grand Prix de la Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival. For this concert, the trio is complemented by cello and percussion.
