On Friday, March 19, the OGs of Suicidal Tendencies come to Patronaat: Suicidal, with the Utrecht thrashers Grindpad as support. This evening harks back directly to the raw hardcore and skatepunk of Venice Beach, led by musicians who themselves laid the foundation for that scene.
Luicidal was founded by Louiche Mayorga and RJ Herrera, both former members of Suicidal Tendencies. Mayorga played bass on the debut 'Suicidal Tendencies' and 'Join the Army', while Herrera sat behind the drums from the mid-eighties. With Luicidal, they carry that history into the present. The band has released, among others, the self-titled 'Luicidal' and 'Born in Venice'. Live, it is all about short tempers, heavy riffs, and direct interaction with the audience.
