After the overwhelming success of a midlife crisis that got out of hand and led to Midjonno Prog in early 2026, a second edition was practically inevitable. Same concept, 4 bands from different corners of prog rock and prog metal, with something for everyone.

The Hirsch Effekt (DE)
As the pre-headliner for this evening, we have managed to secure The Hirsch Effekt from Germany. From Indie rock to Mathcore, from Post-punk to Death metal. This trio is as if half a dozen musical styles have been thrown into a blender, with the lid left on a stage. But the band doesn't just bring chaos; with 7 albums under their belt, these Germans have refined and sophisticated their sound, delivering music that knows exactly how to strike a sensitive chord one moment, only to evolve into an all-destroying frenzy a moment later. In early 2026, they released the fantastic *Der Brauch*. They very rarely play outside Germany, and we are now trying to change that.

Disillusion (DE)
The headliner of the evening is Disillusion, also from Germany . Few bands reinvent themselves as often as Disillusion does. Their debut album, Back to Times of Splendour, impressed with an extremely melodic approach to Progressive Death Metal. The follow-up, Gloria, from 2006, was a complete stylistic shift, incorporating elements of Electronica and Industrial, among others, after which things went very quiet. That is, until a new single was released in 2016 and shows were organized again, including at Complexity Fest. In 2019, they released the comeback album The Liberation, which was very positively received, as was its successor Ayam in 2022. Live, Disillusion is characterized by a strong contrast between the light and dark sides of their music. On the one hand, it is atmospheric, bombastic, and exhilarating, and on the other, vulnerable and introspective.

Golden Caves (NL)
Their previous album could hardly have been released at a worse time. While the world was struggling with an epidemic in May 2020, they released Dysergy, which naturally had major consequences for planned support gigs. It is a great pity, because GC is a fantastic live band that makes Prog rock that is profound and playful one moment and rousing and poppy the next. It has been well over 3 years since they last took the stage, and something had to be done about that.

The second band of the evening is Methodica from Italy. With four albums under their belt and a fifth on the way, Methodica has been active for a while, but the last time they played in the Netherlands was well over 10 years ago. You could describe their music as somewhat more traditional Power Prog Metal with a twist. This twist comes in the form of modern electronic music. Expect heavy riffs, soaring vocal melodies, and pounding rhythms.
