Millennium Jazz Orchestra ft. Claron McFadden & Manu van Kersbergen: The Drinkable River
Compelling orchestral narrative about the encounter between the river and the human.
The Drinkable River tells the story of The River and The Human. They engage in an exciting dialogue about the future of their relationship, about nature, ignorance, conflict, harmony, beauty, hope, and reconciliation. Immerse yourself in this turbulent journey, an orchestral narrative where classical, jazz, and hip-hop come together.
Inspired by the adventurous book Drinkable Rivers by Li An Phoa, orchestra leader Joan Reinders composed, with lyricist Marieke Meischke, songs and spoken word about a journey of The River meeting The Human. From the source to the outflow into the sea: all aspects are reviewed, from the flowing water to the cities crossed and from flora and fauna to pollution. The enchanting visuals are by award-winning nature filmmakers Arthur de Bruin and Dick Harrewijn.
With soprano Claron McFadden and word artist Manu van Kersbergen.
