Marwan Abdelhamid, better known as Saint Levant, was born in Jerusalem during the Second Intifada. His mother is French-Algerian and his father is Serbian-Palestinian. He spent a large part of his childhood in Gaza, where he grew up for seven years. These experiences later served as the inspiration for his debut EP, From Gaza, With Love. Drawing on his background, Saint Levant combines traditional Arabic music with R&B and hip hop. In doing so, he embraces the richness of his own cultural heritage, the global Arab community, and the Palestinian struggle. His songs, sung in Arabic, English, and French, appeal to an international audience and have brought him worldwide fame.

This foundation came together in DEIRA, his debut album, in which Saint Levant lays the emotional and musical foundations for his artistic universe. Subsequently, on Valentine's Day, Love Letters / رسائل حب was released, a project that marked a new chapter in his artistic development. On the album, he explores various sides of himself—powerful, contemplative, hopeful, and sincere—with an A-side rooted in Arab and North African musical traditions and a B-side inspired by 1980s Western funk and contemporary pop. Following the success of the album, Love Letters / رسائل حب (Deluxe) was released, featuring collaborations with Fares Sokar, NORDO, and Babylone. With this, Saint Levant once again confirmed his position as an artist who moves effortlessly between cultures, countries, and musical styles.

With AFANDI, Saint Levant opens a new artistic chapter centered on timeless elegance. Inspired by Arab icons such as George Wassouf and Kadim Al Saher, he gives a contemporary interpretation to the classic archetype of the afandi—stylishly dressed, self-assured, and reserved. As his artistic world continues to evolve, so too does his influence on music, fashion, and culture. Saint Levant represents a generation that is redefining Arab art and identity on its own terms. With AFANDI, he underscores what has actually always been clear: some things never go out of style.
