The Preacher Men

Grooving power trio brings an explosive mix of jazz, blues, and gospel.

Since 2014, saxophonist Efraïm Trujillo, organist Rob Mostert, and drummer Chris Strik have been playing together as The Preacher Men. Whether they deliver a moody late-night ballad or an exhilarating groove piece, this trio always sounds soulful, with jazz, blues, and gospel as their foundation. Trujillo, also active in The Ploctones, plays the rare E♭-blueshorn alongside his tenor sax. Mostert uniquely operates the pedals of his Hammond B3 with bare feet, and Chris Strik was voted the best jazz drummer in the Benelux by the readers of Slagwerkkrant in 2024 & 2025.

After the debut Preaching Out Loud (2016), Blue followed, which won the Edison Audience Award in 2019, and in 2024, Royal Flush was nominated for the same award. In 2026, the band celebrates its twelve-year existence with a special project: twelve new singles, presented during twelve concerts. Of which ours is, of course, the most fun to attend. With special guests, to be announced later.
