The Womack Sisters. Kucha, Zeimani and BG Womack, are the granddaughters of soul legend Sam Cooke and nieces of Bobby Womack. Music runs in their blood: they grew up on the road, singing behind their parents Zekkariyas & Zeriiya (fka Womack & Womack), on stages and in studios across the world, from London to Kenya and from Amsterdam to New York.
After years of personal loss and a stubborn music industry, the sisters found their way back to music at Daptone Records, working with producer Gabriel Roth (Bosco Mann) on their long-awaited debut album 'The Womack Sisters', that came out last August. An intensely soulful collection of tunes that harks back to when pop music still had substance and purpose, giving each sister her own moment in the spotlight.
On the album they playfully trade lead vocals and their three voices merge into one instrument, with harmonies only sisters can create. The Womack Sisters looks forward by honouring the family lineage, while sounding like no one else.
