Yad Oud & Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest

Arabic lute and electronics meet an Andalusian orchestra.

The masked Bahraini oud player YAD Oud brings the ancient sound of the Arabic lute to the present, in a style that is entirely his own. He connects Arabic melodies with modern arrangements and influences from ambient, hip-hop, and electronic music. The result is a sound that is both traditional and innovative, and has been streamed millions of times worldwide.

In this closing concert of UD Festival 2026, he shares the stage with the Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest. They play music from Granada to Baghdad, from various eras and styles: from the rich Arabo-Andalusian repertoire to mystical Eastern music, and from the refined improvisational music of the Arab world to the folk music of the Maghreb.
