Zwart Licht: The Unstoppable Power of Dutch-language Hip-Hop.

Prepare yourself for a wall of sound and an inexhaustible dose of energy. The Amsterdam-based group Zwart Licht — consisting of the sharp MCs Akwasi and Leeroy , and the groundbreaking producer Hayzee — has been an undeniable pillar of the Dutch hip-hop scene since 2007.

When their iconic debut album Bliksemschicht made an impact in 2009, the hip-hop climate in the Netherlands changed permanently. With a unique mix of poetic depth, provocative lyrics, and raw productions, they gave the genre a much-needed boost. However, Zwart Licht is more than just a musical storm; the group is known for its sharp, socially critical messages.

In their lyrics, the trio does not shy away from subjects such as racism, discrimination, and social inequality. They use hip-hop as the music style to expose injustice and give a voice to a generation that often feels unheard. Whether it concerns their poetic indictments or their broader commitment to cultural representation, their mission is always clear: to shine a light on the dark spots of society.

Live, Zwart Licht guarantees explosive shows where mosh pits are the rule rather than the exception. From the legendary 'XL' performances at Lowlands to a completely sold-out Paradiso: when this trio takes the stage, they melt together into a musical block of granite.

Brace yourself for a set full of classics, new tracks from their album *Licht In Het Donker*, and the unparalleled chemistry of three men who, after more than 15 years, are still at the absolute top.

Zwart Licht is back. Not for a comeback, but to show that the fire has never gone out.
